3 Days Safari to Nyungwe Forest National Park will take you to enjoy the adventure in Nyungwe Forest as you experience the beauty of wildlife and nature’s best. You will visit Nyungwe Forest National Park for an amazing experience of chimpanzee tracking and a canopy walk. Let get deeper into the wildlife encounter of the primates in Nyungwe forest.
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
While in Kigali, you will be picked up by one of our guides who will welcome you to Rwanda and brief you about your safari. Thereafter, you will begin your journey transferring to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Along the way, we’ll make stops at places of interest including local markets, and the traditional palace of Rwanda’s Former King in Nyanza. In Butare, visit the Botanical Gardens and a cultural museum.
You’ll have lunch on your way to the park and drive past green fields of tea scattered across the hillsides along with small wooden houses unique to the areas surrounding Nyungwe Forest.

Day 2: Enjoy Chimpanzee trekking and afternoon canopy walk
Encounter the highest population of chimpanzees in Rwanda (roughly 400), Chimpanzee trekking is a major activity done in Nyungwe Forest National Park. Have your breakfast and transfer to the trekking point where you will first receive some briefing on the dos and don’ts during chimp trekking. Thereafter, enter the forest to encounter these fascinating and human-like primates firsthand in their natural habitat.
Later you will return to the accommodation for lunch and some rest before going out again for the canopy walk experience. The two hours walk starts and ends at the park’s headquarters – Uwinka information center. Travelers walk on the built trail which hangs 60 meters above the forest rewarding them with an aerial view of the national park, wildlife, adjacent communities, Virunga volcanoes and attractions in the neighboring countries.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kigali
On your last day of your safari, you will wake up on a chill and delicious breakfast at your lodge. Enjoy the last feel of Nyungwe and start on your journey back to Kigali City.
It’s about 4-5 hours’ drive so you will be in Kigali at around afternoon for lunch. You may deicide to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial center before proceeding to the airport. If you are flying that same day, we do recommend for an evening flight from 9pm onwards. This is so because you will have enough time to prepare and also have another beautiful afternoon-evening in Kigali city.
