6 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari with Nature & Culture taking you to Kidepo Valley National Park and Murchison Falls National Park in Northern Uganda. This safari takes you to some of Uganda’s best savannah national parks found in the northern part of the River Nile. Let’s dive into the true African wilderness as we visit Kidepo Valley National Park. Then continue to Murchison Falls National Park that is divided by the River Nile that originates from Jinja flow northwards.

Day 1: Welcome to Uganda and transfer to the Hotel

On arrive at the airport, you will by picked up transfer to your hotel for check in, have lunch and relax. You may go for a city tour of Entebbe town in case you arrive early and visit some places like Entebbe Botanical Gardens, Entebbe Zoo, sandy beaches on Lake Victoria, for relaxation among many others

Day 2: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park.

Wakeup very early for breakfast and begin your journey before the sun comes out, driving Northwards to Kidepo Valley National Park. You will go various towns like Masindi, Gulu and Kitgum before reach Karenga district. Since it will be a long journey (12 hours), you will drive straight to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Game drive and community experience.

After an early breakfast, you will drive to the Narus valley for the game drive where you will see a number of animals. The valley is home to a number of animals like the lions, elephants, Reedbucks, Jackson hartebeest, oribi, Klipspringer, buffaloes, zebras, kudus, Oryx, caracal, Bat eared fox, hyenas, Cheetahs, giraffe, bushbucks, water bucks, Uganda Kob, bush pig, side-striped jackals, warthogs, the dik-dik, among many others. You will continue to Kanangorok hot spring where you can see the Ostriches.

Later in the afternoon, you will have a cultural experience that will bring into contact with Karamojong peoples at Karenna and Kapedo. While there, you will meet up with the local elders and have an opportunity to interact with them and get to know the challenges they are facing as well as knowing the history of the place. They will show you the kraals, the grinding stones and many more interesting facts about the community.

Day 4: Transfer from Kidepo Valley National Park to Murchison Falls National Park

Have breakfast and after you will transfer to Murchison falls National Park the northern part of Uganda via Kitgum and Gulu town. You will have lunch in Gulu town and the drive to Murchison Falls National Park. The park is bisected by the Victoria Nile, which plunges 45m over the remnant rift valley wall, creating the dramatic Murchison Falls, the centerpiece of the park and the final event in an 80km stretch of rapids. The mighty cascade drains the last of the river’s energy, transforming it into a broad, placid stream that flows quietly across the rift valley floor into Lake Albert.

There are a lot of animals to see on your way to the lodge through the parks such as elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes among many others. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

5 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari with Nature & Culture

Day 5: Early morning Game drive and boat cruise

Wake up very early morning, have packed breakfast and leave for your early morning game drive.  As you head out for the game drive, you will be in position to spot animals. These may include the buffaloes, elephants, lions, leopards, hyenas, Rothschild giraffes, Oribi, Kobs and waterbucks among others. You will also be in position to spot some bird species along the way with some feeding together with the big animals.

You will stopover to the hippo pool for some refreshments (pineapples & watermelon) together with you packed breakfast. After, you will head for a Boat ride along the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the falls at mid-day.  This Boat ride on River Nile goes for about 3 hours and you will be able to see some Nile crocodiles, numerous hippos, as well as various bird species.

 

You will return in the early afternoon for lunch at the lodge, then drive to the Top of Murchison Falls. While there, you will enjoy the spectacular view of the most powerful waterfall in the world, Murchison falls. Murchison Falls National Park runs on the Victoria Nile that connects to Lake Albert, in Northwestern Uganda. It’s originally known as Kabalega falls where water forces its way through a very narrow gorge of about 7 meters wild forming the world’s most powerful waterfalls, and a rainbow on a sunny day. In Every single second, the equivalent of 200 bathtubs full of water drops down through this narrow space. This experience a must see on your safari to Uganda.

Later you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay as you see some animals nearby your lodge.

Day 6: Rhino tracking and transfer to Kampala.

Early morning breakfast, check out of the lodge and head to Ziwa rhino sanctuary in Nakasongola District, near Nakitoma Village. The white Rhinos became extinct in Uganda’s national parks in 1980, but conservationists and the government through Uganda wildlife authority took the few that had remained and transferred them to the sanctuary for better protection. There are more than 42+ rhinos in the sanctuary currently protected from poachers. There and also future plans to reintroduce them in Uganda’s game parks.
